NW Corner Winery Tour 2019

Here's the details of the route we will be taking, deliberately chosen to take the road less traveled, and explore some of the back roads of the NW corner.

Following the storms we had this week, I've just drive the route to ensure the roads are all still open, and there are no trees down. I have made a couple of minor changes as a result, so please use the routes below if you are using your phone to navigate along the route tomorrow.

10:00am We will meet at the Pleasant Street commuter parking lot in Thomaston (opposite Dunkin Donuts, 369 E Main St, Thomaston, CT 06787 (Map)

If you have a smart phone - use this link to follow the route we will be taking from Dunkin' to Lunch, via the Jerram Winery

10:20am We will leave Dunkin Donuts, heading North on Pleasant street, and taking the scenic back roads (to avoid Route 8, and the Saturday traffic in Torrington).

11:00am We will arrive at Jerram Winery (535 Town Hill Rd, New Hartford, CT 06057). Please park on the lawn on the right hand side of the driveway (until it is full!) (Map)

Noon: We will leave Jerram, and again take the road less travelled, enjoying a scenic route over to Da Capo's Restaurant in Litchfield for lunch. Da Capo's are a well respected Italian restaurant with Pizza, Pasta and a range of lighter fare on their Lunch Menu. They have excellent parking.  (Map). If we leave on time, we should arrive at Da Capos' around 12:40pm

After lunch we will take a short drive to Sunset Meadows Winery (599 Old Middle St, Goshen, CT 06756) for some more tasting. (Map)

Again, if you have a smart phone, here is the route to follow after lunch.

Finally, if there's interest, we may head to Spring Hill Winery in Washington Depot. This eclectic spot in the woods is not on the Connecticut Winery trail, but is delightfully laid back, with a small airstream caravan being the tasting room, with couches and a firepit among the trees. (Map)

Registration is open, so please sign up asap so we can get an idea of numbers for lunch
